General Managers Corner

Welcome to your September Club News Letter. We have delayed sending it to you waiting for the Annual Report & Balance Sheet 2010-2011 from the Auditor, avoiding additional costs to the club.

Once again we have introduced monthly deals for the members. I hope you will take advantage of the offers by simply visiting your club and place the relevant offer in the Barrel.

A few changes will occur with Morning Melodies and Saturday evening Tribute shows.

I will be changing the format for both events. Unfortunately, this has come about because of the lack of support possibly because the current format has run its time.

We will continue with this years advertised shows and 2012 will be advertised in the March News Letter, internally and on our web page.

Notification of special events will be via text and email. If you are on Facebook watch our web site for the opportunity to follow events on the Clubs Facebook.

You may already be aware by 1st July 2012 ATMs will no longer be located in Clubs or Hotels. To ensure our members and patrons are not inconvenienced an alternative cash withdrawal (EFTPOS) procedure will be operating shortly in the Club to enable customers to become familiar with the alternative cash withdrawal system. Currently we are looking at 2 companies i.e. Cashpoint and Ecash.

The Chairman has already mentioned that we have purchased the current 50 Gaming Machines from Tatt?s. Unfortunately, they can not be owned by the club till August 2012. However, in the meantime we do have the options of purchasing new games and machines. You may have noticed 2 new Games were introduced 30th June 2011. Both Games have proven to be not only profitable but also popular amongst our players.

A number of new machines and games are currently on order with Aristocrat. Mercury Group (Clubs provider) is also negotiating with manufactures like Shufflemaster, IGT, Ainsworth and Konami ensuring Clubs are getting the best deal in the market.

You will notice I have included "Member's Corner" Please take the time to reply. Your answers are important to us ensuring we continue to prosper after August 2012.

Whilst I am on the subject of Members I would like to take this opportunity in thanking all members who purchased raffle tickets during the month of February. Monies collected together with the club matching $ for $ we raised $942 for the Victorian Flood Appeal.

Not only did the Club donate to the Flood Appeal but so did our regular member Geoff Noonan. He donated his Wednesday Members Cash Draw win of $1000 to the Flood Appeal. What a thoughtful gesture. Well done Geoff.

The club had the pleasure in hosting the July Pub Poker Grand Final (unfortunately photos were not available at the time of printing). Once again what an exciting day it was. 13 poker tables were set up in the bistro and members area. Approximately 180 people enjoyed not only the event but also the meals Chef Harry served.
Congratulations to the Grand Final Winner.

Whilst on food the Tuesday Parma or Curry and Pot $11.50 are proving to be very popular as is the Sunday Lunch Special $11.

Chef Harry has now been at the Club since January. During his time he has catered to many functions with nothing but compliments about his food.

His menu will be reviewed for summer as will the wine list.

The issue of mandatory pre-commitment continues to be debated publicly and features prominently

in the national media.

ClubsAustralia has taken every opportunity to argue against mandatory pre-commitment.

Please find attached below a media release from ClubAustralia, which explains how the proposed "licence to punt is un-Australian".

I urge you as a member, to register in the petition on this website. The online petition will eventually be handed to Prime Minister Gillard.

Kind Regards

Gunter Mair
